Across the road was a building which was in it's late stages was a plant hire company, don't know what it was before that.
working backwards ...A Plant.....Power Products......Willie Agenue(garage taxis and Icecream vans) .........another ....... Joe's taxis...........prior possibly Fergusons

Across from the Greystone's Hotel was a petrol station, I'm talking about 40 years ago. I think after the petrol station it was Paisley Crane Hire.
The barbers across from the higher grade has me stumped, it wasn't Fergusons , he was further up New St. could it have been Willie Wilsons.

Hi
Ferguson's ice cream was parked in their drive way at their mum and dads house as Wallace Ave, I can remember the boys called Gerald and Robert.
Was there a Laundrette next to Gourleys when I was at the Higher Grade ?

LP,
Before the petrol station it used to belong to Tam Frew. He kept his trucks there and before that his horses and carts.
One thing missing was my favourite place when I was a kid 'THE GOOD OLD DELUXE' next to Gourlays. I spent many a good night there shouting on my heroes Tom mix ,Roy Rogers, the Cisco Kid and many more.

Paisley Crane Hire.
Was up from Steele's in Portland place,
the Garage was at one point Douglas Motors, who moved to , where the Jet(??) Petrol Station and Spar is in the Bogelmart
The barbers across from the higher grade has me stumped
Willie wilson's then some one else then Jim Ferguson prior to him moving to Bogelmart street then New street
it wasn't Fergusons
Fergusons had the petrol station , then they built a factory Moorpark Road, Portland Place side(grey building end of cottages)

Just a wee step back on our saunter, I managed to get some information last night from an elderly man, Wullie Thomson aged 88. The big house down the shore opposite Trelawney Terr. was known as "Seamore House" and the Cotters lived there. He remembered 4 families that lived in the Chemical raw, W Smith ( Polish), Aitken, Edwards and Lewis.

Hi Betty, I remember a Bobby Clark staying in Ardoch Cres. and the Wilsons, their son Tom was at school with me. Was his dad a vet , as I seem to remember they had lots of pet animals and I'm sure it was the Wilson's who donated the swordfish bill to Ardeer primary, it was on display in the cabinet in the corridor.
When you mentioned the McCarts, is it the same family that lived in Trelawney Terr.

Robert if you look closely at the photo of steel's garage, printed on it is the name " Trade's Hotel".
