Looking at the prize lists submitted recently by 'Down South' in respect of St. Michaels we should maybe be adding:-

GUAZZELLI.
LUNARDI;
LITAUNIEKS'
MOTRONI;
PICOZZI; and
TURRICCHI.

The Litaunieks family were of Lithuanian origin.
All of the other families were of Italian ancestry, and the music-prize-winning Lunardi (Ivo) was the most gifted violinist St Michael's ever hosted (I don't think they had much to do with his teaching).
For once in that year, the very clever Polish families in the area weren't represented.

Frank Picozzi owned the fish and chip shop just off the Cross in Dalry, in Courthill St.

The 3 chippys in the town were Pollacci’s Picozzi’s and Gianetti’s.

Here's a foreign name that's not already listed, Pacewies. I remember the family half way down McDowall Avenue, Ardrossan. Truth is, I remembered the very attractive daughter there while I was growing up - about the same age as me.
