JD, it was the Grangeknowe before it was the Lonsdale.
I remember that a few days after opening, the "THE GRANGEKNOWE" pub name sign was re-spaced to read "THE GRANGE KNOWE", and then after a few more days, was changed back again.
Always did wonder who/what was behind the dispute...

yes Hughie and George, I forgot all about the high tide,from memory I think norrie gaw the builder in new street,had bricklayes on the building of it.
