Thanks for this Hughie. I had previously posted the following article but did not have the original report.

GLASGOW HERALD
29 SEPTEMBER 1806

NEW TOWN OF ARDROSSAN

The fifty lots formerly advertised to be feud having been disposed of, fifty more lots for building upon, will be granted at the moderate rate of a shilling per fall, with the privilege of materials as formerly advertised, if taken within three months from this date.

Mr. Auld, Inspector of Works, at Ardrossan, will show the plan and mark off the lots to any person who may apply in the meantime.

VILLAs

The piece of ground so beautifully situated between Saltcoats and Ardrossan Castle, is laid off, in the form of a crescent, in lots for 46 villas, in the centre of which the Bart. Of Eglinton, proposes to erect hot and cold baths.

Plans may be seen and further particulars learned by applying to Mr. Reid, at Fergushill, Lindsay & Ballingall, writers, Glasgow; or William Crichton, Collector of the Customs, Irvine.
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.
