My Mother Annie Rose nee Harper 1922-2019 died in Murwillumbah NSW
Australia aged care home at Age 97. She emigrated to Australia in 1952
with Husband Norman and 3 children Colin Patricia and Norma. Tim was born
in Australia.

They did well in Sydney and retired to the NSW/Queensland border town of
Murwillumbah. Norma and Tim still live there.

Annie was the 1933 "Saltcoats Sea Queen". She joined threetowners back in 2010.
Many of you might recall her sister Jean who taught at Saltcoats Junior High in the 60's. See more details

Below: Part of a correspondence from Annie Rose to me back in 2008:

One (small) claim to fame - I was Queen of the Sea in 1933 when I was in
Kyleshill School. One year, visiting Saltcoats, I called into the Museum
and to my amazement and delight found a whole feature about my 'reign' with
photographs, robe and crown. When I told them who I was they insisted I
have a photo taken, in full regalia.....

Looking forward to continuing to find pleasant reminders of my hometown.
