Ardrossan’s Sound on the Sand 2019

At the opposite end of the scale, I got roped into helping a pal with the sound at an event in Lanarkshire yesterday.

“Bandstand Beats” - in an old bandstand in a park in Stonehouse. 4 local bands doing a set each - mostly very good. A few other stalls - face painting, raffle, barbecue etc.

Weather was mostly kind, it was dry all day, but torrential rain for the last band. Despite this, many of the audience stayed to the end. All ages, from young families to more mature. Some had arrived with picnic chairs and waterproofs, and seemed to have a great time.

Several hundred people passed through over the day, and the only money changing hands was at the barbecue burger stall, and into the donations bucket.

I’d perhaps suggest that that’s a better event for the community than what took place in Ardrossan....
