Hi all,
Never made bread in my whole life, but saw this recipe in the Woman's World" magazine that Oprah discovered from Denmark, and so so EASY TO MAKE.
Ingredients.....1 Tbs. instant dry yeast
4 cups whole grain rye flour....1/2 tsp salt
.....2 cups buttermilk.....3 Tbs. canola oil
In bowl, mix yeast, flour and salt. Microwave buttermilk until lukewarm:stir in oil. Add to flour mixture.
Knead 10 minutes until smooth, adding 1/2 cup more flour if needed. Place in oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap
and leave to rise in a warm place for 1-1/2 hours.
Kneed lightly and transfer to greased loaf pan. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 1 hour to rise again.
Bake at 350°F for about 45 minutes.brushing with water occasionally. Makes 36 thin slices.
For me, this turned out very very moist, and delicious. However, my second attempt I left it in the over for 55 minutes. Still scrumptious with your favorite spread.
If you have any questions just let me know.

Bessie,
Do you think it will go well with Sweet and Sour Meatballs?

Hi Wee Boney,
"Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Give it a try with your sour meatballs.
I've just been putting Becal (diet margarine) on it and having it with a cup of tea.
I mentioned I baked it in two different temps. The 45 minutes timing is the best. bessie
