Sounds delicious Hughie - I’ve used Bovril and Cornflour in mince before - and it was nearly as good as Bisto. Let’s know how it goes.

Enjoy the footie...

Hughie- Have been drooling over that pie. Have just got back from the shopping at the Co-op and have a big steak pie to put in the oven and are going to gobble it all shortly :P

Here you go Brian, recommended by me. Very pleased, the pie turned out really nice. I halved the ingredients 'cause it would have been too much for us - we'll finish it off tomorrow perhaps minus the tatties. I'll certainly make it again and perhaps add a couple of sausages next time - that'll surprise the old girl. That's something for me to work on for next New Years Day.

Made it for dinner tonight.
Not sure that my pastry puffed as much as it should. But it tasted ok. Might grate zuccini next time instead of celery.

I think the zuccini would be a good alternative, Netta. Even though I cut the ingredients by half I think next time I'll half it again.

Yes, used two sheets, thought that worked well. When our men's kitchen restarts I'll submit that recipe.
