Taken in the early 50's. 1st Ardrossan BB's at camp in Insch, Aberdeenshire.
Great photo! Source, Frank Herbert. I remember most of the faces but not all the names. My first take on it: Hugh Cotton pointing at the camera, Bobby Kerr behind him, Frank Herbert with the turned up skip cap, Eddie McCracken on the right kneeling and Stirrat Blackwood, bottom right. I think that's the boy McComb crouching at the front.
Others suggested: On the left beside Hugh Cotton, Gilbert Kean then William Ramsey. Bobby Denver is said to be at the back and Jimmy Howieson is believed to be the officer on the left then Jimmy Logue behind Eddie McCracken.

Definitely Gilbert Kean, Hugh Cotton, and Stirrat Blackwood; and I was wondering if the boy kneeling at the front could be Barry McManus?
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.

Willie Ramsay has his arm round Raymond King Standing at the back behind Raymond I'm sure is Jimmy Bruce.
I don't think Barry is in that photo the guy kneeling is,and I agree with Hughie his name is McComb, who if memory serves me right stayed in Millglen Road.

Yes, Angus. That's where the McComb family lived, Millglen Road, more or less half way up across the Road from my Boyce relatives.

Talking to Eddie McCracken, he wonders if it was Ian McComb. He is not positive.

Yes, Netta. The older brother I think was Ian as I remember but there was a younger one too - didn't know about the girl that Meg mentioned.
