PIECES ON ..........?

Post by Penny Tray »

I like prompting us to create "memory lists" - where were all the phone boxes? - what were the different names we had for rain? - what were the local names of ethnic origin? - etc.

So what were all the things we put between two slices of bread to constitute a piece?

Jam is the obvious starter!
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.

For school it was often Shipham's? sandwich spreads - some were better than others, but I preferred a gammon or bacon sandwich. For a fancy 'piece' if company was coming it'd be canned salmon on bridge rolls. Chips and H.P. sauce was a pretty tasty piece as well.
