Fireworks

Post by Meg »

Having a chat with my son about the banning or not of home fireworks - which now straddle Guy Fox night by about two weeks and have strayed into Hogmanay - I remembered a story my dad told me about a terrible accident that happened up the cannon hill during the VE night celebrations when a rocket ended up striking and killing a young child - does anyone remember any of the details?

A Sunday Post reporter contacted me for further details about this incident back in August. I put her in touch with member George Fleming.
