"No, Papa, Don't play that, it's rubbish, they'll not like it. Do you have any Singing Kettle?"

I know there are a few fans of Andy Chung here.
Have a look at this:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m ... e-takeaway

It's a BBC Alba programme (mainly in English!) featuring 6 chinese people living in Scotland, discussing life and food. Andy is one of them.

.... and Hughie will be pleased to hear that my wee grandson, 20 months old, got a moothie as a present. I recorded a wee bit of him playing with it, and .... well, here’s what happened.

That's the way, Bruce. Start them young. ;-)
Just got the notice our Australian National Celtic Festival will go ahead in June - missed last year's owing to covid. I imagine there will be no visiting international performers. But folks are hungry for such events, so the town should be jumping as usual for our Queen's birthday holiday weekend. We don't at this time have any covid transmissions - fingers crossed. We'll no doubt be doing some busking with our wee moothie group.

It's been a while since I posted one of these - still doing the Friday afternoon radio show.

Here's my Christmas Eve playlist. Wanted to do some Christmas-related tracks, but not the wall-to-wall Christmas sameness that you get on most radio channels (and in shops) at this time of year.

Any requests for Hogmanay?

Hour 1
Peat & Diesel - Fairy Tale of Stornoway
Eric Bogle - Santa Bloody Claus
Gnoss - An Orkney Christmas
Julie Fowlis - Touch the Sky
Trio - Dolly Parton Linda Ronstadt Emmylou Harris - After the Gold Rush
Christine Sparks - Wild Mountainside
Robert Whitehead & Danelaw Dance Band - Gay Gordons
Kirsty MacColl - Don't come the Cowboy with me, Sonny Jim
Pogues - Dirty Old Town
Gerry Rafferty - Dirty Old Town
The Wherries - Leaving of Liverpool
Mark Knopfler - Daddy's gone to Knoxville
Scottish Quest All Stars - Santa's a Scotsman

Hour 2
Bill Barclay - 12 days of Christmas
Old Blind Dogs - Knucklehead Circus
Dean Owens & the Whisky Hearts - Home for Christmas
Jimmy Shand Jr - Welcome Christmas Morning
Lindsay Weir SDB - Thomas Saunders
The Laurettes - Home Bird
Dougie MacLean- Ashokan Farewell
Teddy Thompson - In My Arms
Sharon Shannon - Lady Luck
Amy Macdonald - The Hudson
Billy Connolly - If it wasnae for yer wellies
Christy Moore - Fairytale of New York
