Best thing ever invented....
Best thing ever invented......My vote goes to.......CARMEN ROLLERS!
been using them for 50 years, can't beat them for a quick hairdo!
The long, straight hairdo's of today are just not my style.

Used to think it was sliced bread - but I'm not so sure now.
Seriously, perhaps penicillin. Wish it had been in use earlier then perhaps I'd have got to know my mother.

Hughie It was a new drug when it saved my brother’s life although I was too young to know what was happening I am great full for the discovery of penicillin

Email,
It is so simple and effective. I've kept contact with friends and family through this which would have cost a lot of effort if it had had to be with pen and paper.
I think it is a great shame that it is being cast into the dustbin of history at the moment.
I have just received an email from the National Insurance people telling me that there is a message containing my annual statement for tax purposes in my inbox on my 'My Pension' system. If this is not the pinacle of extra work for both the NI staff and me, I don't know what is.
JD.

Personally I like to cut my own bread, big thick chunky slices. But usually it’s pre-sliced my wife buys

The fridge or freezer might be a contender. Saying that and talking about bread, we keep our bread in the freezer.
Re: Best thing ever invented....
I think the remote control for the television is also a contender. With more than 100 channels to chose from, imagine if we had to rise as we did in the 50's and 60's to change the channel? Although then there were only two channels If I remember right. But then a remote control for any apparatus is a godsend. For example garage doors.

The jet engine must be up there? It's made the world a smaller place but in saying that it's no helping the climate any.
Those wimin were in the nip.
