Re: Cakes
We were over at son Paul's for the day yesterday and stayed to dinner in the evening.
On arrival we had tea/coffee and chocolate cake and the sweet at dinner was Tiramisu.
Both cake and sweet were home-made by granddaughter Judith (14) and they were great.
An awfy prood, JD.

Re: Cakes
Thanks Brian.
We made sure that Judith knew we were impressed.
She's a smasher as well.

Re: Cakes
I think it's a question of age. When I was younger I used to bake birthday cakes for all the family, I had a great cook book on birthday cakes. Then we started buying them from the local bakery, even though they were pricey. But in January last I bought a cake from the local supermarket and it was very nice, fresh and pleased everyone at half the price of the bakery cakes. So from now on I shall be buying them there. But I see my grandaughter loves to make cup cakes and lemon flavoured cakes so I think it's just a question of age.
