This tune "Ashokan Farewell" was written in the form of a Scottish lament according to the composer who was a Jewish guy from the Bronx - simply beautiful. //perfect.

Beautiful rendition Hughie. This tune was the background music to the Ken Burns TV epic "The Civil War."

Very enjoyable Hughie, although I get the shivers watching her being so scantily dressed in such a cold enviroment. However I really liked the guitar version of the Ashokan Farewell, sheer perfection. But as I remembered the vocal version of the 70's by the Corries and them singing about Glenshee, I went on to Youtube and discovered that this lament is called 'Busk,Busk, Bonnie Lassie. So surprised that it was written by a Jewish man who lived in the Bronx. Seems a 100% pure Scottish ballad. It's a truly beautiful tune.
So lucky nowadays to have Youtube where all this information is on hand at a click of a button. Well done Hughie.
