the Old Grey Whistle Test
Charlie McCoy played the harmonica, I think the band were all session musicians,
I'm certain on the box set of the program Val Doonigan and someone else do a cover at the drop of a hat

The old grey whistle test was a program on BBC2 late at night (mind you 10 o’clock was late back then) starting early 1971 and ran til 1988. You’d have left for Oz by then Hughie.

Back then I was twiddling the dial on the short wave radio trying to get a good reception from the BBC World Service, Voice of America etc... So I don't know if it was ever shown here in Oz.

Thought Sam Brown’s version of this was perfect but this is even better.
