Re: Burns Monument Centre - Family History Research

Hi, George, When I was doing the family tree bit I found the Scotlandspeople website, which seemed to provide all I needed. I'm wondreing if this source has more to offer, such as people to help (as in the Heritage centre) or anyother advantages. Cheers, A.B.

Meg, Hopefully your friend is right, although the cynic in me says "a likely story". Still, I'd prefer to be wrong. Time MIGHT tell. Cheers, A.B.

Anyway, will get back to...

Re: Charles Duguid & Son (Saltcoats and Australia)

Re: Woman dies after lorry hits house in Fairlie.

Hi, all, Terrible doesn't quite cover it but our language hasn't provided a better word. I had occasion to drive to Largs and back just over a week ago and could find no obvious excuse for the tragedy, so decided the guy must have fallen asleep at the wheel. However the word is now going round that ...

Ask some of the (younger) locals and they're liable to tell you he's a guy that's got a pub in Saltcoats. Cheers, A.B.
