Sheenaj, I think that Agnes McCreadie and Andrew Calvert may have married in Ireland, Martha Calvert WAS their daughter, she WAS born in 1897.....on the 1901 census of Scotland she is mistranscribed as Maria..... Del.

Re: My Irish Granny
Hughie, I suspect that my other-half's relatives travelled this route too, as you know, one of them married a Boyce, what a shame that there are no passenger lists for these crossings, I'm told it is because the journey was not considered long enough, it would be very interesting to be able to see t...

Re: Ardrossan Dock Workers

Hello, Is anyone else having trouble with the ASH database, I can enter the site, but can't search for anyone, it just comes up ''surname is a required field'' even when a name is entered, most annoying as this is a jolly useful site........Regards Del.

Re: Busbie Drive Ardrossan
Thanks Hughie and George, I suspect that her parents lived at that address....Samuel Allan Clarke and wife Jessie, allthough Susan did have brothers and sisters in Ardrossan also, so maybe she stayed with one of them, she had married Canadian Ron Bollen, in India, in about 1944, and moved to Canada....

Busbie Drive Ardrossan
In August 1949 Susan McDowell Bollen, maiden surname Clarke, arrived in the U.K from Canada, for a two month stay, she gave her destination as 13 Busbie Drive, Ardrossan, anyone know how to find out who lived at that address ? I know that Busbie Drive was re-named Strathclyde Avenue at some point, w...

Re: 3t's who have died abroad
SC, yes, you are right of course, each to their own, and all that, it used to annoy me that other people would see this wrong information, and assume it to be correct , and it would send them off down ''the wrong road'', that is why I now check everything that I find, and never take anything as ''go...
