hi harrysteele ,when you spoke to the man who owned 10 hill st., was it john wales? he was just a wee lad when we lived there he was about 14, his mother was a widow they were great people very good to her renters. joantoyboy

hi harrysteele do you not mean 10 hill st., instead of windmill st., i used to rent the top floor of 10 hill st., in the beginning of the 50,sand it was across from the old pool., joan

hi hughie dora murray owned that amuement arcade those attics above it were hers as was 41 windmill st., they were awful, we lived at 47,still havent saw any mention of the wee house on the rocks will go back through saltcoats old and new again, i just took a quick look. joan : :)

hi mitchy i grew up in windmill st., during the 40.,s and at glasgow fair time the town would be packed , my mom used to rent out a room during the holidays, it was great, the shows would be on the braes and the buses wouldin full of day trippers, the pubs would be full , and by the time for some of...

windmill st.,on the rocks

i was looking at some really old pictures of windmill st., on the rocks across from the old beach pavilion there looks to be a wee house, i grew up in windmill st., during the 40,s dont even remember there even being a foundation there and we played there all the time, so can anyone tell me anything...

hi ellen we were in longbeach california the day the queen mary came what a sight that was the harbour was full of every kind of small boats to greet her horns were blowing etc., what a magnificent ship she is , we had lunch aboard her some time later, we even took a tour . :lol: joan
