Does anyone remember the record shop upstairs in Gregor Watson's in the old corner Duncan's shop at the corner of Dockhead Street and Countess Street.

I remember it being buried in the coup when the coup was on the shore side of the Caly Railway line - where the caravan park is now. I wonder if the folk in the caravans know that they are sleeping over a dead whale.

In Saltcoats the Cuddy Park was off Gladstone Road behind Gamble's shop. The now disused GPO/ British Telecom building was built on the site. I think there is still a mosaic on the ground at the entrance to Gregor Watson's shop with the letter D for Duncan on it. I remember this shop being corner Duncans before moving across the road.

Hi Martiboy This map of the Auchenharvie pits was drawn by the colliery manager after an accident in 1895. Hi Meg - yes it's Tommy's father and mother - I was out in Canada in 2004 and visited Tommy who lives with his wife Lynn in Stoney Creek in Ontario.

My mother - Nan McCallum - worked in the Countess from the late 50s until it shut down. I used to get in to see all the films for free.
