There was definitely a bank that sat virtually across the road from the Station Bar at one point, bonzo, think it may have been a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

When it closed it might well have become the Bookies.

I'm told it's been done up and has now re-opened, there was a Karaoke sing song in there on Saturday night.

I'm going back a wee while, but I remember visiting Jim and Margaret (surname escapes me) when they lived at Laighdykes - they then had the saw mill (fencing business down the bottom end of Stevenston off the new road) Just remembered that they have a son who was or still is pretty big in the organ...

Can you still get Mulligatawny soup these days. I think Heinz do their own version of it brianf and it might well be available either in store or online at Morrison's and Tesco - possibly at other large supermarket's as well. I reckon they'd probably all be quite tasty, but just out of sheer curiosity I'm drawn to the Middle East meatballs. :puter
