Re: The Scottish Premiership

After their win at Ibrox on Sunday Celtic are currently 6 points clear of 2nd place Rangers with 6 matches left, it's not done yet but the Hoops are now firmly in the driving seat. Sadly during the match though, there were some unsavoury scenes created by Rangers fans who threw glass bottles aimed a...

I think there was a Whisky Bottling Plant near to Kilwinning Industrial Estate area in the early to mid 1980's. House of Campbell whisky springs to mind?
As far as I know that was probably the closest one to the Three Town's.

Kudos to Rangers for coming through their tie - but a disappointing night for Celtic.

Re: Midweek Euro Football nights.

Yeah I should have known that what is a simple statement would be gobbledegook to some. You maybe should check the differences for awarding rankings in amateur and and professional golfers. Barnies and empty houses spring to mind at this time for me meekan, I'm guessing simple statements don't come...

Re: Midweek Euro Football nights.

Kittiwake, meekac I don’t understand your problem with this as you have quoted all the relevant criteria ie points awarded for a win or draw in matches (not in ties and not by the amount of goals they score). This is the case except in qualifying matches which don’t count. It seems simple to me. I ...

Re: Midweek Euro Football nights.

meekan, Are you maybe trying too hard here to attempt to justify what (if true) is an absurdity from EUFA ? You're basically saying that you think it's perfectly fine for a team who lose a 2 leg knockout tie by 6 goals to 1 for instance to actually gain co-efficient points for their country from tha...

Re: Midweek Euro Football nights.

To my way of thinking the tie may be over two legs of 90 minutes each but it is not worked out on the outcome of the tie it is worked out on games of 90 mins which is the normal length of a match. Whether it is 1 leg or 2 legs is irrelevant as it’s the level of achievement over a normal match, whic...

Re: Midweek Euro Football nights.

brian f, I read your own comment, plus GEODGC's, plus the content of the Fans link that Penny Tray posted and came to the conclusion that If EUFA can't even come up with sensible and easy to get your head round rules and conditions for their competitions, then some fans are always going to end up co...

Re: Midweek Euro Football nights.

Some quite confusing stuff going around here, at least for me anyway. Celtic are currently involved in a 2 leg aggregate 'Play Off' tie against Bodo Glimpt and should they successfully come through that (wee bit unlikely at present) they'd need to win or draw any single match in their subsequent kno...

Re: Celtic's new Manager?

Postecoglou hasn't been there very long and to date has only won a League Cup. Could be wrong but If that's his only success come the end of the season I doubt if he'll be much of an attraction to clubs down south. Oh the banter......we'll leave it there then. Banter plays a big part of every genuin...
