Re: Trivia Quiz - 97

Re: Alexander wood memorial

My understanding is that the Alexander Wood Memorial Collection is housed in Ardrossan Library and the Heritage Centre in Saltcoats. Access is available by consulting the collection’s listing in the Heritage Centre. In due course, the items will be made available in the Heritage Centre.

Susan

Re: WINTON PARK

ARDROSSAN WINTON ROVERS HAVE WON THE LEAGUE AND GAINED PROMOTION FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW. After beating Caledonian Locomotives 5-4, they were presented with the West of Scotland Football Second Division League Trophy. There were happy celebrations with players and coaching staff and their famil...

Re: WINTON PARK

I think it’s true to say that Winton Park is the only full-size grass football pitch in the town. The are mini goalposts on the wee park near Saint Andrew’s Road and Saint Margaret’s Road and perhaps mini pitches in school playgrounds. Digressing slightly, last season Winton Rovers were promoted fro...

Re: WINTON PARK

It's difficult to find anyone who prefers astroturf to grass. Reasons for making the change at Winton Park can be seen in this article in the current Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald.

WERE YOUR RELATIVES’ ASHES SCATTERED AT WINTON PARK?

Ardrossan Winton Rovers are nearing the end a season in which they have been promoted for the second successive time. Next season they will play in the West of Scotland Football League First Division – most likely as Second Division champions if they do well in their remaining three games. After the...

Re: The Ardrossan Tabernacle

Penny Tray My guess is that The Ardrossan Tabernacle was in Bute Place as the building with the red door at this link - http://www.s173884875.websitehome.co.uk/Bute%20Place%206B.htm . The building with the red door in the background was built as the Evangelical Union (EU) Congregational Church and o...
