I have just learned that John Goodwin was born on 19 May 1893 at 2 WINTON STREET, Ardrossan, 220 yards or two pitch lengths from WINTON PARK where he played for WINTON ROVERS.

Much news nowadays is bad so it’s a joy to hear a happy story - and long may the togetherness continue. Congratulations and best wishes to you both, Hughie and Betty.

West Bromwich Albion Boys' Club Football Team in Ardrossan or Saltcoats

A friend told me yesterday that a team called West Bromwich Albion Boys' Club regularly played football at Laighdykes Playing Fields in Saltcoats. I had never heard of such a team and wonder if anyone knows anything about them.
