Interesting point about babies being born at home.
I was born at home at 160 Glasgow St. in 1942 as was my younger brother in 1946.
Wonder how many other of our contributing Threetowners were born at home.

Wonder where the Crown was located. Is it possible it was the same location as the Lyric?

Re: Some Three Towns councillors from early 1970s

PT, I remember the day Mrs. OHaire lost her husband in that explosion. Watching the long black car slowly drive up Rowanside Terrace and stopping outside her door, we all knew what that meant. We lived across the street at # 8 and had heard the explosion earlier in the day when we were up the Cannon...

Re: Saltcoats - On This Day In History

Thanks for posting that story. Found it very interesting and enlightening as I had no idea any bombs had fallen on ICI.
I had heard that a dummy factory had been constructed near Montfode farm to try and mislead the German bombers.

Had never heard before that a U boat was sunk at the entrance to Ardrossan harbour.
Anyone know of further particulars?

Re: Ardrossan - On This Day In History

Just wondering PT when the report says the "Mcflannel case" does that have anything to do with the old radio programme in the 50's called "The Mcflannels" ?
