Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Right !!! I'm opening another book. A knighthood for the Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary in the next honours list; - odds 100 to 1 on. I feel the heavy hand of the Home Office on his shoulder leading to a third communique from him announcing that Dominic Cummings was not guilty of any breakin...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Hi, PT. I know what you mean about the lack of attention for VE day. The fourth of May is our Remembrance Day here. Normally there are two Remembrance services. The main one is on the Dam Square in Amsterdam where the service is led by the King and thousands of people fill the square. The other one ...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Right !!!
I'm opening a book on Cummings getting sacked or resigning. Two to one on that he goes.
Winnings to be collected in Mac's Bar two weeks tonight; Tuesday 9th June.
I'm looking forward to getting wasted on my winnings.

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

I watched the Dominic Cummings show earlier in the evening. First there was a ‘detailed’ explanation of the sequence of events which occurred leading up to, and in the course of, his trip from London to Co. Durham. All well and good from his own point of view. Points to ponder :- 1: In the grand sch...

The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not know the game.

Aaaaahhh.- Now that could be Johnson and Cummings talking.
Is it all right for Shankly but not for Johnson and Cummings ??

Brian Rix is alive and well and living in 10 Downing St.
But then we've known that for a while.

Re: A Local Novel - The Aul' Man

Hi Hughie, thanks for this heads-up. - A couple of questions though. 1. To whom is this link available? Is it available to the whole web? 2. And if so, how does that work with my copyright? BTW, The project has been somewhat changed since it appeared on the TTT's. It is now a trilogy with 370k words...

I thought it worth mentioning that Provosts Barr, Hogarth and Young were prominent businessmen in the town.

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Looks like England have declared independence from the rest of UK. Typical I always laughed when the English used to moan about the Scots, Welsh and N. Irish all having their own Parliaments, while they did not. This is the final proof that they will never understand that for the last 300-odd years...

Re: Mac's Bar - Our Virtual Cafe

Well I'm going to regret this but I went to my local shop for some rolls this morning and I noticed bottles of orange MD2020 so I had to buy one 25 years since I've drank it might be 25 years before the next one, plenty left if anybody would like one  Sorry, but I'm doing it again. I thought ...
