Thanks to all. I had hoped for a family get-together on Sunday 17th Sep but our eldest twin daughter and son-in-law of second twin will be absent as work on their respective mine sites calls! Ach weel, there's always my 75th next year.
Once again, thank you.

Re: THE BUDAPEST CUP
Neither have I. However, I know of a trophy in Celtic's trophy room inscribed "Awarded to Rangers F.C.". This trophy was first won in 1901 by Rangers as the Glasgow International Exhibition Cup. The following year, to their credit, Rangers put it forward as the "British League Cup&quo...

Have You Ever Wondered?
A history lesson for people who think that history doesn't matter. What's the big deal about railroad tracks? The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet 8.5 inches; an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Well, because that's the way they built them in England,...

Re: Celtic's new Manager?
With West Ham beating Fiorentina 2-1 in the Europa Conference League final, that's Moyes out of the equation! Rodgers? Too many fans will never forgive him for jumping ship. Lennon? Although hard done by, many fans blame him for missing "ten in a row". Broonie? Has insufficient managerial ...

Re: Canal street / Factory Place
As a young boy, I lived at 2 Braehead Place and regularly spent time at the garage in Factory Place. If memory serves correctly (now almost 74 years), it was the A1 bus garage. Viewing Google Earth, 17A/B/C/D/E and F Gladstone Road was then a Post Office behind which there was a park of sorts which ...

Go to Scotlands People website, register then sign. Select Statutory Records, then Births and complete. You should be able to locate your mothers Birth Extract which should contain the names of her parents.

Netflix "Faraway". The throw-away one-liners between the two main characters are absolutely hilarious!!! Grab the popcorn, get seated comfortably and be entertained.

Hi Hughie, did you, like me, catch frogs and attempt to gather swan eggs in the swamp?

Re: The Lost Village of Ardeer - video online
I watched this very informative and well made video on YouTube and recognised more than a few locations visited by the presenter; most especially the harbour and pit-head structure which, when I was a boy, was known as "Auchenharvie Swamp".

How The Game Should Be Played
A huge Well Done to Rangers for allowing Partick Thistle to score. Sportsmanship is how the game should be played!
