Re: Saltcoats - On This Day In History

I recall him as "Sandy" Lawson. He was a tall slim man whose house was immediately adjacent to what was then St Brendan's Parish Church.

Re: Some Herald BMD from the 60s and 70s

Just now noticed my own Wedding Announcement - downsouth entry dated 7 Nov 2022.
While serving in the RN, I met Rita here in Perth, WA and proposed after 4, yes 4 days. We are married 50 years and 8 months later - mainly, I must add, due to her patience as I can be a difficult man to live with.

TRUE LOVE

It’s the World Cup Final and a man makes his way to his seat right next to the pitch. He sits down, noticing that the seat next to him is empty. He leans over and asks his neighbour if someone will be sitting there. ‘No,’ says the neighbour. ‘The seat is empty.’ ‘This is incredible,’ said the man. ‘...

Rugby vs Football Standards

Lately, I have been watching Rugby AND Football games on YouTube and noted the following: Todays footballers: 1. appear to be a bunch of "snowflakes". Go anywhere near them and down they go writhing in fake agony. Of course, five minutes later, they're running a 4-minute mile. 2. melee if ...
