You are spot on my error Agnes was the name of the mother of John and Liz. Many years ago someone told me that John was training to be a chiropodist and I think Liz may have been a hairdresser. Many a good lock in in was had during the restricted drinking legislation of the time.

I recall hearing that there was some wood panelling from a ship used in the ballroom of the original Kilmeny hotel. Never did find much more online about it though. Since posting this picture I've since been informed that Pat died a few years ago. For as long as I can remember before I left saltcoats I always new him to stay in the flats at Quay St. Saltcoats. Good footballer.

This is a photo of a successful Saltcoats United under 18 team from about 1968. They won the the local under 18 league and league cup that year.
