Re: Independence

Whenever the topic of Quebec independence comes up, (which it often does) there are generally some in the ROC (Rest Of Canada)who say that this is enough, too much, why doesn't Quebec just leave already? So I'm wondering is there an expression like ROB = Rest Of Britain, and do some want Scotland to...

Independence

I was living in Montreal in 1995 when we had the Quebec referendum, and the NO side won supposedly due to the ethnic vote. I wasn't too worried as I had lived in Toronto, and knew there were many parts of Canada that a 'Quebec refugee' could move to. My friend though, she ran an in-home daycare and ...

Re: natural disasters quadrupled

I don't think any part of the world is immune to natural disasters. In Montreal we had the ice storm of 1998. We were without power for 3 days, and the indoor temperature was 11 Celsius. Re: Ardrossan Academy Nativity Play, 1969

Susan, oh my goodness, thanks so much for posting the photos. I looked at the Jacks Road photos, too. Anyway, I don't remember anyone with a camera. Memory is a very weird thing. I lived in Wellington N.Z., then we were in Toronto and now I've lived more than half my life in Montreal. When certain m...

Re: Just Joined? Please Introduce Yourself

I was living in Stevenson, when I was just 5 years old, I think. Then we moved to Ardrossan, so I went to Ardrossan Academy from age 6 to age 15. The new school building was almost completed when our family left the country. I now live in Montreal, Canada.

These photos are amazing. It's almost like looking at a previous life! But who took the photos?
