No viv Morrison's supermarket chain is a Yorkshire based company think Bradford orginally! which we still had scottish based chains such as Wm Low's & R &J Templeton's.

Yes there was a shopping centre (well more of a shopping arcade really) it was at the top of Hamilton street lasted about 3years or so, from memory it housed about 20 small units never fully occupied tho. it has been the Basebowl tenpin bowling alley since and still is at present.

hi not a 100% sure i remember watchin a t.v programme about pillars on a beach elsewhere and think its something to do with "shifting sands" and coastal protection! maybe totally wrong tho! Interesting post tho remember well playing and climbing on the pillars as a child in the 70's
