Thank you so much......I never knew her, but Katie would have been my mother-in-law....the wife had a suspicion that her birthday was in January, and you have confirmed it.....apparently she was born up "The Washer Row"......Many Thanks Irene.......

Katie Paton Scott, born 1919 at New Cumnock.....trying to find her exact birth date...she married Joseph Hugh Clarke, and she died in 1977 at New Cumnock.....Thanks.

Trying to establish if the Julia Monaghan, that married Hugh Joseph Clarke, at Saltcoats in 1933 had any siblings....on their marriage certificate the witnesses are given as Charles Dorrian and Rita Monaghan, I think that they also married in 1936, I also think that Rita's name was actually Margaret...

This is Annie Smith Clarke's birth.....the birth cert. for Sarah Donaldson Foster Clarke, in 1907 says much the same thing......

SC, thanks for that....when Susannah's daughters were born in Scotland, she stated on their birth certificates, that she "had neither seen, nor heard from Samuel Clarke for seven and ten years" respectively (Sarah was born 1907 and Annie 1910)…..I have searched for any record of her having...

Not wishing to go over old ground, but, there was a rumour in the family that on his release, Samuel went back to the Dundrum area, and worked on the land, and "possibly" had another family, although we have never found any evidence for this.....Susannah re-married in Scotland in 1912, and...
