Re: Old Saltcoats
Yes, I am sure that's the corner where the Melbourne is. I think that's the old church wall opposite. Campbell

Old Ardrossan
I'd put off working through my late brothers wee photo box but did it this morning. Inside I found these old postcards. A few aren't postmarked so I've no idea of the year, the ones that are I've typed the details in. Campbell

Re: Happy birthday - Canfactory

Heading down to Ardrossan at the end of the week with my nephew as he wants to see where his dad Hugh was born (gran's address at 162 Glasgow Street) and we will then cross over and show him 175 where I was born. It was the attic flat there and I'd love to go up but the close...

Re: Fishing Mill Dam
We fished the Mill Dam often when I was a teenager as well as Whitlees and the Busby. Before we were able to get a season ticket, we used to buy daily or weekly permits from Mrs Cliff at the Millglen Filter House. Campbell

A lot of nostalgia for me as my uncle and grandfather worked for British Rail. My uncle was a driver on steam then diesel engines and I still remember the distinct smell o...
