John Auld mention above is my Grandfather . He played for Irvine Meadow, Stevenston Utd and Stevenston Thistle . He the eldest of five brothers all played football . David, Andy, Richard, Willie and John. They all played for Ardeer Thistle at the same time for a one off to set a record at the time ....

Yes I can remember Erskines opposite the Victoria Bar in Saltcaoats. Mostly went in on a Friday, loved listing to the football banter between all the men . Always plenty off comics to read. For some reason I can rememeber three picture frames on wall, all showed scenes of the desert.......strange wh...

I can remember A1 Bus Stance at Fleming Crescent Saltcoats ( New England ) and also another A1 Bus Stance at what was called the Villias down at Ardeer (Pillar Box) . Then there was the main one opposite Ardrossan Academy. Sometimes the SMT bus stopped for 10mins at Stevenston Cross.

Me I'm sitting up in bedroom with laptop looking through the threetowners.....because wife down stairs with a bunch of lady friends getting their future told eg Psychic Reader . Great stuff eh!

Hi George. Andy Auld was a founder memeber / player of Ardeer Thistle. His brother John Auld my Grandfather was also a founder memeber / player. In total there were five Auld brothers who played junior football. Before emigrating to Canada Andy was asked to sign for Ardeer Thistle for another season...

Good work George, I have some stories of Dasher Auld before he left these shores and also when he played for USA. Will pass on to you if you wish.....its not earth shattering stuff, more anecdotal.

I also remember Miss Christie. I joined the primary 1958, I can remember others warning me about her. My sister who was five years older, had a brian and used it, sailed through primary. I was not sure when the photo was taken, early 70's was my best guess. Went to America could well be right also. //perfect My Granny and Uncle are in the picture (left). I know they spent most of there time in Canada when they were over there. They must have had a pick up and travel over the border....
