Re: What does this mean?

I asked a pal, native Gaelic speaker, and lecturer in Gaelic education

Hum. It’s written really badly/incorrectly. The first bit is Pòg mo thòin - kiss my bum. I think the next bit is Scots and means stretch over! I could be wrong.

Re: Threetowners cycling thread

I've been a wee bit under the weather recently, So miles are waaaay down on previous years. Planning a few adventures this year, and hopefully at least one will involve a ferry. I quite fancy going across to Dunoon and then round the Holy Loch,Kilmun, Strone, Ardentinny, then over the hill to Loch E...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Sorry to hear that Bonzo, hope you are feeling OK. My son-in-law tested positive (LFT) last week, so their whole family in isolation. Rest of family negative. All went for PCRs (they went to the testing centre at Prestwick Airport) and Son-in-law came back positive, daughter and the 2 grand weans -v...

Re: Threetowners cycling thread

Well done Bonzo! my mileage was waaaay down this year. Every year I set myself a target, which is usually "to go a wee bit further than I did last year". And for the last 5 years, I've managed it. But 2021 was harder. Started off well, but I sort of lost my enthusiasm mid-year. So while I ...

Re: Back on the wireless again...

It's been a while since I posted one of these - still doing the Friday afternoon radio show. Here's my Christmas Eve playlist. Wanted to do some Christmas-related tracks, but not the wall-to-wall Christmas sameness that you get on most radio channels (and in shops) at this time of year. Any requests...

Sadly, demolition of the first of these houses started today. I'm told that both blocks (8 homes) will be coming down.

Re: Houses sinking in Sharphill Road, Saltcoats

Walked past it earlier today. Road still closed to cars, but pavement re-opened. Two blocks (so 8 flats) evacuated and fenced off. Police, Fire, Gas and Electricity people were the yesterday, gas supplies disconnected. You can see cracks on the gable end of one building, and the front of the other. ...
