Re: Anglo Continental Container Services (Containerway)
Hello everyone I just popped on to have a look, this article was my original post. I see Norman Reynolds has been on. My father Jim Ramsay originally worked for a firm called Metlox before managing ACCS. He was in digs with Norman's parents at that time and met my mum Margaret at Metlox. Norman's mu...

I can remember one side being a shoe shop and my mother used to go in the other grocer side and give her co-op number and buy fresh fish. Further down Glasgow Street nearly at the bottom on the left was Guthrie the butcher, there was sawdust on the floor and carcasses hanging up. Mum used to take th...

Hello Sheena "old schoolfriend!" Just noticed your comment about the Ardrossan Cemetary, my Conn grandparents (Thomas & Jane Conn (nee Dunlop) and great grandparents (William & Janet Conn (nee Galloway)) are there. There is a school reunion for our year (Ardrossan Academy) on 9th F...

Re: AA Bus Stance - Ardrossan
yes the family was Davidson, I moved into 73 Eglinton Road in 1960, there was a plot of land between us and them. I was only 6 then and their daughter was the same age as me, her name was Sheila. After that the Campbell family moved, their boys were Alistair and Johnny. They had the house up until a...

Re: Ardrossan Academy
Hello Susan I just had a look at the photos, the older one I had seen before, the other one I had not. My brother probably has these. I have a class photo for most years in the primary as well. You will see me as well. Don McCall had such a lot of bright hair, they were very mischievous little boys,...

Re: Ardrossan Academy
Hello Susan I have just been speaking to my sister, she says Lillias was in her class at Winton and also the sister of Sheila was in her class (Joyce) - we think the surname was Kirwan. They all used to meet at the top of Glasgow St and go to school together. Do you remember some of the other boys i...

Re: Ardrossan Academy
The only girl my sisters keep in touch with is Evelyn MacIntosh from the Winton and they are still in touch with her in Ardrossan. They were only 6 or 7 when we moved away.

Re: Ardrossan Academy
I think the little girl my brother liked and took to the cub party was Lilias McVicar, she lived at the top of Glasgow Street. I was told all the boys in the class liked her. we moved down south when my brother was 10.

Donald wheres your trousers was sung by Andy Stewart in the 60's, who used to be on the White Heather Club on the TV. Fancy it being taught in school now!
