Re: McIntyre or Frew

Hi All, It is a long time since I started this topic, but can tell you that I have found the answer. The Ayr Sheriff Court Paternity Cases have been put online recently, July 2017. I did a search on surname McIntyre, and Ayr in the court box only. Link is http://www.scottishindexes.com/courtsearch.a...

Re: help with searching for living relatives.

Hi,

I could not get any results using Fathers names, but as they were living in Glasgow until the Fathers died, I was expecting that. Maybe post the address in Saltcoats and maybe one of the forum maybe able to assist.

Re: help with searching for living relatives.

Hi caz280, Do you have the names of your grandfather and great uncle, the ASH database can be searched by Father's names. Were they born in Saltcoats, maybe try and find birth or marriage in ASH database. I put "maill" into database and found nothing, could this be a typo. Do you have any ...

Re: McIntyre or Frew

Hi Ellen, I checked on Worldconnect for Robert McIntyre and it resulted in Robert McIntyre 20.3.1836 records. This is not my Robert McIntyre although some managed to get my Mary Weir mixed up with them. I have the 09/09/1864 MC for Robert McIntyre and Mary Weir, it says both were illegitimate and ad...

Re: McIntyre or Frew

Hi Ellen, Thanks for the reply. I was thinking as Robert McIntyre's mother was a single parent, would she not be called in front of Kirk Session to explain the pregnancy/birth. I have heard of that in East Lothian but not sure if it was nationwide. Next question, are the Kirk Session records availab...

Re: McIntyre or Frew

I have sent a PM to "ellenadamson" thanking her for all research carried out. Her conclusion as that they are one and the same person but not legally done. So he used McIntyre for legal things and Frew for others. Does not help genealogists! I would really like to find out who the Frew was...

Re: McIntyre or Frew

1901 Census Name: Agnes D F McIntyre Age: 29 Estimated birth year: abt 1872 Household schedule number: 48 Line: 10 Roll: CSSCT1901_353 Appears to mix things up? I think this is not my Agnes, my one was born 1868, married 1888 and had a son born 1890. By 1901 she would have used married name Paterso...

Re: McIntyre or Frew

Hi Penny Tray, Thanks for your reply, although it seems that Robert McIntyre changed his name to Frew, as his children were christened as McIntyre, married as McIntyre then died as Frew. I hope that some other person from the same family may have more answers for me. I will keep this in mindthough, ...

Re: McLauchlan family in Stevenston and Ardrossan

My ancestors came from Ayrshire. In 1794 John McLauchland married Janet White of Dreghorn in Stevenston. They had 4 children, John, Ann, Charles and Janet. John married Janet Spiers and they had 9 children of whom Robert Spiers McLauchlan married Barbara Dickie of Girthill Farm, Old Ardrossan. At t...

McIntyre or Frew

Hi All, Hoping that someone on this board can help. This is my first post and have checked the other posts and has not been raised before on here. I did try on RootsChat without much success. Robert McIntyre or Frew was my Great Great Grandfather. My Great Grandmother Agnes Divens McIntyre was on he...
