thanks very much for this.

I have a friend here in Holland called Allan Poot, who comes from S.A. He only knows that his grandmother, (possibly g-gr-mother) came from Ardrossan. He asked me if I could find anything for him.The details I gave were all that he had.

I will pass this on to him. Again, thanks a million. Allan will be very pleased. Up till now they had no background at all.

Hi there,

I am family of the Adams family mentioned here. Perhaps I can help? I am also looking for as much information as I can get.

I would be really keen to find out whether he was family of one of my ancestors, Thomas Adams (b1811). Most of my family of those generations settled in Kilmarnock/Ardrossan/Saltcoats.

An article in Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald has an article about my great-grandfather John Adams' (d1937) passing. According to what I can find, he had a brother named James. He was also married to an Elizabeth :)
