Hi James.
I took a look at SP. Given that he was 21 yr old when wed. that would put birth around 1884,marriage had him at a Glasgow address in 1903.I found 2 deaths for a John Kirk .
1. John Kirk age 88 died in Saltcoats 1972. Cert # 662/00/0256.
2. John Kirk age 92 died in Irvine 1977. Cert # 672/00/0019.

His address at time of Father in Law James McCreadie death was 10 Raise Street. He was the notifier.

Is anyone able to assist me determine the location and date of death of one John KIRK who I believe lived in Raise Street, Saltcoats - not #5. I have checked Ayrshire-Roots and SP only to locate many many John KIRKs, none of them I consider likely candidates (e.g. dying locally or around Dumfries).

On 26 Nov 1903 at Stevenston, John KIRK (b. abt 1884, Dumfries d. Unknown) married Jeanie McCREADIE (b. Abt 1879, Glen Luce d. 22 Feb 1955, Saltcoats). I know John was alive in 1953 as A&SH Intimations recorded their GW anniversary.
A daughter Agnes Donald KIRK, born 1904 died in Mar 1920, aged 16 years at Saltcoats. A&SH Intimations recorded her Death in two Notices - "Daughter of Mr & Mrs John KIRK" and "Nancy - granddaughter of Mrs McCreadie".

John KIRKs parents were David KIRK (b. Abt 1857, d. 02 Jan 1934, Dumfries) and Eliza Rutherford Simpson DUNBAR (b. 22 Nov 1861, Dumfries d. 27 Feb 1895, Dumfries) who married in 1881 at Dumfries while Jeanie's parents were James McCREADIE (b. abt 1854, Ballantrae d. 04 Aug 1918, Saltcoats) and Agnes DINNELL (b. 27 Feb 1859, Whithorn, d. 02 Apr 1936, Saltcoats) who married on 30 Aug 1877 at Portyerrock, Whithorn. In the 1901 Census, James and Agnes were recorded as resident at 5 Raise Street, Saltcoats.
