Sitting here like a dug wi' twa' tails, drinking a can of McEwans Export.
Took a run over to the English shop in The Hague this afternoon, - we'd run out of PG-tips. So I stocked up with all the goodies we can't normally get in the shops. When Ria finds out how much I spent, she'll have my guts.
Ria is away for the weekend with her music pals, supposedly to rehearse their new winter programme. Aye, that'll be right.
So, I'm in charge. Weather's rubbish. I'm supposed to be playing golf tomorrow, but I'm going to chicken out. I don't mix rain and golf.
I'm fraying round the edges these days. Just got a temprary plate with two front teeth. The old crowns were done and so were my roots, so I'm getting implants. Lots of no fun at all. That was Friday. I've got to wait till February before I get them in. The roots are oot and the holes are filled up with some kind of artificial bone so that the things will stay put when they're screwed in. My jaw is not deep enough to take the screws alone. That needs three months to set.
Yesterday, I got my hearing aids. Now, that is a big success. This getting older business is not for the faint hearted. I'm starting to feel like the bionic man.
