It would be great to see the photograph. I forgot about the Finlays and also the Denvers and that reminded me of Findlay Denver. I wonder if he is still in the three towns.

Re: North Shore, Ardrossan
A warm welcome to you, Largsfairlie. Spent many a day down there with my pals when we were weelargsfairlie wrote:My family has been closely connected with the loup cottage caravan site since 1937 to present day. while no one knew for certain what this was I was always told it was part of an old jetty which served the area. I see something on old maps called "Ann's lodge" across the road from Loup cottage which we always called " the orchard". Could it have served this house in the early 19th century?
Just beyond Loup Cottage, as the road veered to the right was a gated-field pathway to where we used to camp. The area was known to us as the "Camels humps". Others may have known it as the "The Viaduct".
Just love to see old topics being rejuvenated by new members.

Found the photo at last, now I just have to sweet-talk Hugh to get him to post it for me.bobnetau wrote:I haven't forgotten, Campbell, still looking through cases of photographs. Nettacanfactory wrote:Netta

I recall years ago someone painted 'Jesus saves' on the big rock. Someone painted below it 'but Dalglish nets the rebound!'Penny Tray wrote:Unicornheart,
I stopped and filled my lungs at both these spots, particularly the second. And I wish folk wouldn't paint on the rocks:

Netta,
What a tremendous photo. I don't think I was ever at the greasy pole on a summer's afternoon without some of that group being around. Although I recognise some of them I'll leave it for Canfactory to have the first go.

Rowanside,
You're thinking of Findlay's brother, David. Both are in the photo.
