Gran and Grampa's only trip outside UK, to visit Willies grave. We had pictures but I don't know what became of them...part and parcel of being 'away from the flock'.

Here's a couple of photos of Dad in uniform - taken whilst in Naples with the Military Police in 1945-46, aged 29-30.

The shoulder flash in the one where he's smoking a pipe says "CMP" for Corps Military Police & was the one he sent Mum in return for one she sent him. They got married in 1947.

At the moment he's laid up in bed on doctor's orders for complete rest - fluid build up in his legs complicated by asthma & maybe his age (94). I'm having to take him to hospital & his doctor (the former for blood tests) regularly just now. My own health hasn't been the best either lately but that's another story.

Thought I'd revamp this topic - they don't have to be military uniforms. This is me in prison uniform in 1966 - got out early with good behaviour and joined the Australian Customs. 2nd photo taken around 1971, should have wore my white-topped cap - very navy looking. :)
