Come to me my melancholy baby.
Cuddle up and don't be blue. All your fears are foolish fancy baby.....

I am now hearing the grants will reopen in 2 or 3 weeks.
Bonzo - do you know who's buying the place? I really am so glad to hear it's reopening. Wonder if any threetowners would be up for a wee get together "blether" night at the end of the summer?

Though I didn't go much to Stevenston pubs / hotels, Grant's, Champion Shell, Ardchoille were decent. Back in the day it was the 'Dene', the Red Herring...occasionally on a posh outing, the Lauriston. 8)

glenshena - The Grant Arms is a wee pub in Stevenston - who's owner, Mary, was really good to the Threetowners. We have had fundraising quiz nights, reunion music nights, blether nights and cold winter Monday nights when the social committee would meet and plan reunion events. We haven't really had a social evening for a long time, so if the Grants reopens it might be nice to meet up once the holidays are by and people are settling down to the autumn. Maybe September? I'm open to suggestions.

I don't... used to be neighbours would get together and maybe set off a few fireworks, have a bbq etc. We never really did it, having pets. Now only my daughter at home and she's hoofed it for a few days, think I've a bottle of bubbly left mind! Haven't heard any fireworks, think most folk now go to city sponsored events. :D

There's a luxury 5 star hotel just 20 mts from where I live and as their clientele is mostly american, including Robert di Niro and Bruce Springsteen, every 4 july they have a huge firework display for the pleausure of their guests from USA.💵
