Silicone Baking Trays

Anyone use those silicone baking trays?
Do you find them alright - considering buying one for my fruit cake. :secret:

Our Jen uses them, Hugh and everything seems to turn out OK for her.
She's the cook in our family.

Thanks for that Netta my old cake pan has about had it, think I'll get one of those.

us 3ts invented alfresco cooking long before bbqs , A Ayrshire tattie oot the gardin and straight inti the camp fire wis hard tay beat fur flavour, mind you it didny half burn yir fingers

I've heard both ways, Hughie, one of my son's girlfriends is a professional baker and really likes the thought of them but was warned against. Some people think there's an odour from the silicone. You have to put them on a baking sheet as they are wobbly...think I'd go with the traditional!

I would like to use them also but a bit nervous of what might leach out of them into the cooking. I have read about using plastic anything in the microwave because of leaching also and the sickness it could cause but like a lot of things what we can use today is dangerous tomorrow etc. I think if we took notice of everything we would probably just stay in bed :lol:
