Would greatly appreciate a lookup of the 1921 Census for occupants of “Dorlin” - house at 56 Caledonia Road, Saltcoats. Many thanks.

Hi Jim,
The occupants of 'Dorlin Villa', 56 Caledonia Rd. Saltcoats at the time of the 1921 census were Robert S. Workman, his wife Margeret B., and their children Jessie B., Lily, and James C. All three children were unmarried.

Outstanding Irene. Any additional data would be gratefully received as on 13 July 1923, Jessie Baird WORKMAN married James McCREADIE at “Dorlin”, 56 Caledonia Road, Saltcoats.

Suddenly, at 133 Argyle Road, Saltcoats, on 3rd February, 1957, Jessie Baird Workman, beloved wife of the late Captain James McCreadie.

DEATH – WORKMAN

Peacefully, at a nursing home, Glasgow, on 13th July, 1942, Boyd Campbell Workman, beloved husband of Jean Glen, 43 Caledonia Road, Saltcoats.

DEATH OF MR BOYD CAMPBELL WORKMAN

The death has occurred in a Glasgow nursing home of Mr Boyd Campbell Workman, of 43 Caledonia Road, Saltcoats.

Mr Workman was well-known as a constructor of gas retorts. He also carried through a number of important contracts connected with the building of munitions factories.

He was 57 years old, a native of Saltcoats, and is survived by Mrs Workman.

DEATH – WORKMAN

At Kilmarnock Infirmary, on 13th July, Lilias Pattison Workman, beloved daughter of the late Mr and Mrs R. S. Workman, 8 Franklin Road, Saltcoats.

DEATH – WORKMAN

At 43 Caledonia Road, Saltcoats, on 20th December, 1957, Jean Brown Glen, beloved wife of the late Boyd Campbell Workman, and daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Robert Glen, of Largs.

Yet more information - outstanding! I located the grand-children (1 male, 1 female) of Archibald who died in South Africa. They too live Western Australia and we're pleased to receive what I had discovered at that point. Now, here's more for them. Many thanks again.
