Strange but true.. Since the Xmas holidays I have developed a "taste" which I enjoyed many decades ago.
It has a Hint of Treacle and inspired by a traditional sweet shop recipe!!

Brian - I love the soft Australian liquorice we can get. I used to buy it in Lakeland when I was in Glasgow.

Love Darrell Lea's soft licorice - often get a gift bag of their various goodies for birthdays and Christmas from family - have to hide them from the grandkids.

In 1957, Darrell Lea's soft-eating black licorice was accidentally invented when a batch of licorice didn't turn out how it was supposed to. When the licorice was given away for free, they found that people liked it and decided to keep making it. A star was born!

I love Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts, I usually finish a packet in one go, they're so good. Not so good for the waistline!
