Oh me too Bonzo - I’m in Vancouver just now so 8 hours behind. Blinded (or blint) by tears watching some of the tributes this morning. Tennis has just got that wee bit more mundane. The rollercoaster has been parked....

Gutted for Andy. The guy has to go down as one of the all time greats of British sport. Three majors, two Olympic gold medals, a Davis Cup win & umpteen finals is some feat in a era where we had three of the all time greats in Federer, Nadal & Djokovic . Unbelievable. Fingers crossed you a final swan song at Wimbledon, but if not, enjoy your retirement, you have earned it lad

Creamolafoam can't see Andy gettin tae Wimbledon he's done. I think of what he has done!!! Up against probably the best 3 tennis players ever the titles he's won the finals he's got to. You have probably sussed me I'm nae brit but his first Olympic win and dragging the rest to the Davis cup were fantastic achievementscreamolafoam wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 1:38 am Gutted for Andy. ... and I wiz greetin’ at baith achievements - he’ll be sorely missed BUT will he coach? I remember going into one of the wee village schools in south Ayrshire on a sleety, cold winters morn and there in the village hall with 15 primary school weans was Judy Murray coaching and encouraging. We owe a lot to the Murray family and I don’t think Andy’s legacy is even thought about yet....bonzo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 2:23 amCreamolafoam can't see Andy gettin Wimbledon he's done. Andy did Scotland and himself proud on Monday. He deserved every accolade and standing ovations that came his way. He left his heart snd his detemination on that court.
Well done Andy.
Well done Andy.

Re: The return of Andy Murray
I read a report this morning in the Dutch press to the effect that Andy's hip operation is illegal here in Holland and in many other countries around the world because it is dangerous.
The implant could work loose and cause damage to the surrounding tissue and could even cause a broken leg.
Blood tests on earlier recipients showed high concentrations of cobalt and chromium which had come from the metal implant which could cause sight, neurological and heart problems.
An orthopaedic specialist wrote in the article that he read of the operation 'with amazement.' He added that it was highly unlikely that Murray would be able to benefit from any improvement for any length of time.
The specialist also said that it was very irresponsible to continue to play top-level sport with it.

Re: The return of Andy Murray
I think Andy's brother Jamie will take over the glory from Andy. Watching him playing today at the new Wimbledon Stadium I was really impressed. It was mentioned that Andy was also playing in the stadium in the morning - perhaps making a comeback?
Re: The return of Andy Murray
glenshena, I think Jamie is classed as a World class doubles player. Andy Murray does not owe us nothing what he has achieved but best of luck if he can return. Charlie tickled Andy with a sword last week in the big hoose.

Re: The return of Andy Murray
Can’t believe I’m saying this because I seriously never thought he’d play at a competitive level again - but, all aboard the Andy Murray rollercoaster - although playing doubles this time. He’s on at Queens on Wednesday. Fingers and everything else crossed.
