A few have had difficulty understanding this. When you post a PM to another member it sits in your out box. When it moves to your sent messages box the recipient has read it.

If the PM remains in the out box, you can use the email icon if available (see below) to send an email through the system to the other member. If this doesn't work, then the member has most likely changed the email address without updating it in their profile.

Eureka! .. so that's the reason I've had so many problems sending pm's and e-mails to other members.
