Many Thanks

5siamese7 wrote:Yes they are still there. If you google Stevenston flickr there are some pictures of how it looked years ago. To-day the cottages have been modernised and look fine.
Vivc113 wrote:Yes. Cottages still exist. I think you would find a pic on the North Ayrshire Council heritage section of their website.
Jings .. you two must be suffering from double or even triple vision, as I can assure folk that there's only one of the old Breakplough Cottages remaining. :)

Aye, I was thinking that myself

Took another wee walk up Kerelaw way on tuesday and there was plenty of late Autumn sunshine to be enjoyed.
This pair of handsome scallywags were more than happy to accept a few handfuls of the lush grass on my side of the fence.

Don't know how old this particular tree is but it looks absolutely ancient.

Great pix!! That pic of the castle Gothic window with the blue sky behind is stunning.

What kind of camera are you using??

Hi Michael, thanks for the photos; great.
However, I had expected a couple of the Breakplough, to resolve the question of how many cottages are still there.

Thanks for the kind comments all.

Vivc, the camera I'm using is a Panasonic Lumix G5 which I've had for about 3 years now. I wanted something that would give me just a wee bit more in terms of image quality than a compact could - but without the bulkiness of a full size DSLR.
Having said that, I'm no expert, just an enthusiastic amateur with some half decent equipment. :)
Here's a couple of utube vids.

And below, no-one does it quite like the Yanks haha.

JD, If you look on the previous page here and also in the Threetowners Lounge forum you'll see that I posted 3 recently taken pics in the 'Breakplough, Stevenston' topic that was started in 2009 by peterm1711.
There's only one of the old Cottages left now in Breakplough, but there are some much more modern built homes very close to it. :)
