Today’s trip:
From saltcoats, north along the A78 and cycle paths to Hunterston. Turned right at Fairlie, and over the Fairlie Moor road towards Dalry.
A very sore climb up to the top!
Kept following the Fairlie Moor road past the Caaf reservoir, then took a right onto a farm road, which runs parallel to the “windmill road”. That took me to the Dalry-WestKilbride road near the Munnoch dam. Kept following the farm roads, which took me towards the Dalry-Saltcoats road, and back to Saltcoats.
About 20 miles.

Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.
Re: Threetowners cycling thread
I had to stop just over half way up cos a car was coming the other way and there wasn’t enough room to pass. And then I admired the view for a while.....
That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

Today left castlepark out through the golf course and hooked up with route 73 at the recycling centre and followed it in to Kilmarnock headed back the same way 23 miles. Lovely day just nice after the heat of Tuesday.

I had another trip along to Largs today, via west kilbride. Took my bike into the shop a few days ago for a “free service” - they adjusted a few things, but it also appears to have developed a creak near the bottom bracket. Or maybe it was my legs....
