I recognise Bill Tait in both these photos and others previously posted. He subsequently joined the police but unfortunately was killed in a road accident in 1972 when off-duty. His parents, I think, were the resident caretakers at Ardrossan Bowling Club situated on the path between the Cannon Hill and Kilmeny Terrace.

I think Bill's mum worked with me in the co-op Saltcoats gents. dept.Her name was Dorothy and she was English.Would that be right PT ?

I can't positively confirm that Milda. However, having looked at a couple of family intimations in the A&S database, Bill's mother's name does indeed appear to have been DOROTHY.

Thanks PT ,I think I remember him being in the shop .There was a sister too ,if I remember correctly .

The final pair of pictures now. First is the golf team:

And then, not a sports team but the senior country dance team making a rare appearance in the magazine. Trained as you'd expect by Miss McKelvie, they had been winners that year at the Ayrshire Music Festival.
